Vibe Code Any Labeling or Evaluation Interface with Label Studio Enterprise

Product Updates

Earlier this year, we introduced our next-generation evaluation engine along with fine-tuned interfaces for Document AI, Audio Transcription, and Agentic Trace Evaluation, designed to bring rigor, automation, and scale to multi-modal AI evaluation workflows.

Today, we’re taking the next step.

With Interfaces in Label Studio Enterprise, you can now vibe code any labeling or evaluation interface using our specialized agent or your agent of choice. You get speed and flexibility of agentic development, while inheriting the full power of Label Studio Enterprise out of the box.

Efficiency boosts for every team

The biggest bottlenecks for production AI are high quality data and evaluation workflows.Interfaces are where those workflows live. By designing Interfaces around your unique data and annotation workflows—rather than being constrained to rigid templates—you can unlock massive efficiency gains.

With AI in the interface creation process, you can get projects live faster and improve productivity for annotators. One enterprise customer re-architected their evaluation Interface using the new Interfaces approach and achieved a 90% reduction in clicks and keystrokes for annotation tasks. An AI platform architect at another customer said this new workflow completely unblocks their non-technical teams so now they can keep pace with growing demand.

Build fast, scale with ease

The barrier to generating a one-off UI for labeling or evaluation has lowered significantly, but the hard part is scaling the operations, quality control, change management, and everything around the interface:

  • Task queuing and assignment logic so the right work gets to the right annotator
  • Reviewer workflows and multi-stage QA
  • LLM-as-a-judge automation that pre-labels or auto-scores tasks
  • Sophisticated agreement metrics across annotators, models and ground truth
  • Analytics dashboards that tell you whether your dataset is actually getting better
  • Role-based access control, audit logs, SOC 2, HIPAA, and the rest of the compliance requirements
  • Versioning, rollback, and the ability to reuse a configuration across dozens of projects

This is what makes vibe coding viable at scale in Label Studio Enterprise. You move fast on the frontend without sacrificing operational rigor on the backend.

New possibilities for advanced use cases

The classic Label Studio configuration model is built around a curated library of XML tags. It's powerful and it covers most common cases beautifully, but the tag library is also a ceiling. If the modality you needed wasn't expressible in a tag, or if the business logic you needed was not available as a pre-built plugin, you either filed a feature request or built a workaround.

Interfaces remove that ceiling. Because the interface is real React code generated by an agent, you can build endless types of multimodal labeling UIs with custom layouts and conditional logic. From large-scale PDF and document viewers to audio and visual time series, 3D imaging workflows or domain-specific evaluators, if you can build it with React, you can build it on Label Studio. You can even apply business logic like validation and conditional fields in the interface without needing a separate plugin.

The world’s your oyster, but we know a blank slate makes it hard to know where to start.

The HumanSignal team has created an initial set of templates to demonstrate what’s possible and will continue to add more use cases. They’re also available for you to use out boilerplates for iteration, similar to the templates in the Label Studio gallery.

The option to bring your own agent

In Label Studio, the native Interfaces builder includes a specialized agent alongside an intuitive preview panel. The agent runs in an isolated sandbox from your production environment, so there’s no risk to production data. You get speed without giving up the safety properties your security team is going to ask about.

However, if your team has standardized around an agent like Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or a local LLM for on-prem work, you don’t have to switch. We have a pathway for local development, which allows you to install the SDK and a custom skill for the agent of your choice. Your agent will produce interfaces compatible with the Label Studio runtime. When the interface is ready, import it and keep iterating.

Whichever path you choose, you’ll get:

  • Version control: track changes and roll back anytime
  • Access control: manager permissions to Interfaces at the workspace or project-level
  • Secure, compliant infrastructure: built for enterprise scale

Try Interfaces for your next project

Label Studio has always been the most flexible platform for building custom labeling and evaluation interfaces. Interfaces are the natural next step, giving agentic speed to any team member who can write a prompt, fully integrated with the production backend that runs your data operation today.

Interfaces are available in beta on Label Studio Enterprise. If you'd like a walkthrough on how to apply them to a specific use case, book time with our team and we'll show you how it works on your data.
